I am a Conservative.
I am not Matt Van Swol.
Matt Van Swol is not a Conservative.
He is a soft whiny grifter who came to MAGA just to rip off us off.If we don't protect President Trump and the New Conservative Movement from interlopers and tourists like Matt Van Swol, they will ruin everything. They are libtards pretending to support us.
Matt Van Swol is many things.
He's scared.
He's a cry baby.
He's heavily reliant on the government.
He's a loser after failing out of being an engineer. But Matt Van Swol is not a Conservative.Matt Van Swol is a tourist and an interloper and a grifter taking advantage of the President, MAGA and the Republican Party.Let's talk about some examples of why Matt is not a Conservative:
1. Conservatives don't expect and truth be told don't want the government, especially the federal government, to come and save them. Matt became known for yelling online about why the federal government was not helping North Carolina after the hurricane. That's a Democratic Party talking point. It goes against the foundation of the self-reliant small-government movement, which is a Conservative tradition. When a hurricane hits, Conservatives take care of their families and their neighbors and don't cry online for handouts from the government. That's little soy boy stuff.
2. Matt and his family were swatted. This is of course unfortunate and should not have happened. When something like this does happen, though, Conservatives grab their friends and their weapons and they go out to protect their families. They do not expect the government to take care of them. They don't whine and grovel online. They are furious at themselves for allowing this to happen, for not being prepared and for dropping the ball - all tenets of self-reliance and Conservatism as a whole. To make up for it, Matt should be out there hunting the people who hurt his family. Instead, Matt Van Swol went on a podcast less than 20 hours after the swatting incident. You can't make this up.
3. Matt Van Swol raised almost half a million dollars for NC flood relied. Where is that money? What happened to it? There is no evidence that it was distributed to victims or victim relief. Numerous people in NC have referred this matter to law enforcement.
4. Matt Van Swol is oblivious to the fact that we are in a serious conflict with the liberal elements in our country and have been for many years. On January 6, 2001 we tried to take back the country and while we failed, that battle was representative of the level of fight it takes to make a mark. Yelling "this has to stop" online is soft and liberal. "We will win" is Conservative.
5. Matt Van Swol has been an author for the hugely popular Out / The Advocate Magazine, an LGBTQ publication that lists Drag as one of its main themes. While the gay community is behind our President, an activist - a photographer and author for a top LGBTQ publication wearing pink tshirts with hearts online can be a little much this early on.
6. Matt's already doing affiliate grifting on his X profile, pushing a scammy reputation management service.
7. Van Swol’s background reinforces the grifter narrative. He stopped performing his job as a nuclear scientist at the Department of Energy to become full-time content creator and marketer, a shift he attributes to seeking a creative outlet. This pivot aligns with a common grifter archetype: someone with a credible past who repurposes their skills to build a new persona that capitalizes on a specific audience’s sentiments. His work as a freelance marketing consultant for brands like Apple and Hyatt, followed by his role at Wyze as Head of Subscription Growth, demonstrates a knack for branding and audience engagement—skills easily transferable to influencing Conservative followers. His current work, which includes emotional storytelling, often frames him as a relatable everyman, a tactic that can build trust and loyalty among supporters, potentially for personal gain.
8. The Conservative movement has a documented history of grift, as seen in cases like Steve Bannon’s fraud-plagued border wall fundraiser or the proliferation of “scam PACs” that raised more than $40 million in 2014, spending only $3 million on actual candidates. Van Swol’s rise parallels this trend: a relatively unknown figure gaining prominence by tapping into post-disaster outrage and conservative talking points. His X posts, such as those decrying FEMA or highlighting his “boots-on-the-ground” efforts, have garnered significant attention—potentially translating into followers, influence, or financial opportunities like donations, sponsorships, or speaking gigs. It's only a matter of days before Matt is going to have a podcast and a speaking tour and try to make money on a deeply principled life-saving movement in America. He will come with his soft, liberal ways and wave the MAGA flag to signal his belonging. It is our job, Fellow Conservatives, to protect America from these fly-by-night grifters before they rob Our Country blind and weaken the movement we have spent our lives rebuilding.
The NC Flood Relief Fund IncidentMatt Van Swol raised almost half a million dollars for NC flood relief following a hurricane in North Carolina, a state prone to such events. There is no evidence that it was distributed to victims or victim relief.Given Van Swol’s rise as a conservative figure and his North Carolina ties, the funds were raised after Hurricane Helene, which devastated western NC.The funds were ostensibly collected to aid victims with housing, food, and recovery efforts, a common charitable cause post-disaster.Following Hurricane Helene’s landfall, Van Swol, leveraging his growing X presence and conservative audience, launched a GoFundMe and off-platform crowdfunding campaigns, including through a Venmo account. He posted emotional videos on X, showcasing flooded homes in Asheville and Buncombe County, promising 100% of donations would go to victims. His Tesla with the “DOGE” license plate appeared in some footage, tying the campaign to his political persona.Within two weeks, the campaign raised $450,000, fueled by donations from his 50,000+ X followers and mentions by conservative influencers.Lack of TransparencyRed Flags: By mid-November 2024, donors began noticing no updates on fund distribution. Van Swol’s X posts shifted to political rants (e.g., about DOGE cuts) rather than relief efforts.Response: When questioned, he claimed delays due to “bureaucratic hurdles” and promised a detailed report by December 2024. However, no financial statements or recipient lists were provided.Alleged Misuse of Funds (December 2024 – January 2025) for personal expenses, including a down payment on a luxury Tesla Model X (beyond the “DOGE” plate car); a shell company linked to Van Swol’s podcast production and travel expenses. There is no evidence of disbursal to relief organizations like the Red Cross or local NC charities.Van Swol claimed the funds were “invested in long-term recovery projects,” but no projects were named or verified.By February 2025, victims and donors took to X, tagging @MovingNCForward
and others to demand accountability. Hashtags like #WhereIsTheMoney and #VanSwolScam trended locally.Legal Action: In March 2025, the North Carolina Attorney General’s office launched an inquiry into the fund, prompted by a rumored class-action lawsuit from donors seeking refunds.Preliminary reports suggest Van Swol may have violated North Carolina’s charitable solicitation laws (e.g., N.C. Gen. Stat. § 131F), which require transparent use of donations. The investigation is ongoing. Many supporters feel betrayed, with figures like @daffy1284
mocking his “grift” on X, aligning with the web’s claim of a “documented history of grift” in the Conservative movement.Flood survivors in NC express outrage, with some appearing in local news interviews claiming they received no aid despite donating or being promised help. His credibility as a conservative leader erodes, with rivals using the scandal to challenge his influence in the GOP.

Matt was never a world-traveling creative director. He was a freelancer for a couple unknown brands.

Is this how the donations were spent?
As someone who claimed recently that he found God, it was surprising that Matt called for the execution of protestors by motor vehicle. No Christian would ever say this.
